I turned over a new leaf

Saturday's warriors! Your probably wondering what Saturday's warriors are. Well to put it plainly, my siblings Cameron and Aubrey and I are Saturday's warriors. Yes, one beautiful summer Saturday morning, my dad graciously flickered on my light and jumped on my bed. "Get up! It's already 8:00!!" "DAD!" i said. "What are you doing? Get off my bed!!" He explained in an overly exaggerated happy tone what and who Saturday's warriors are and what is going to happen from now on, on Saturdays. Each Saturday, the warriors have to go fight a battle (do an extensive amount of work--chores). "You can't win the war in one hit. You have to win one battle at a time, and then you conquer!" Dad said. Greeat. First battle: Destroy the ants!!

Jan. 9 2010 Saturday's warriors: Aubrey and I raked up piles and piles of leaves in the backyard! We got started and had some fun until our nice, cute shoes gained another heel of dirt on them. As we returned to our never ending battle it seemed like, with the right pair of shoes on i might add, Aubrey struck up a conversation with me about our backyard. It started with us finding out that the family that lived here before us had a place to park their car right where we were raking! This had become evident as we pushed through all the leaves scattered on and around the pavement that showed two lines of concrete adjacent to each other. Very cool i thought! I had no idea that was there...and i was enjoying the break i was freely taking, when Aubrey said "Good thing we cleaned all this junk up! or we woulda never found this!! It is so messy out here!" The following statement became the favorite quote of the day. "If we were to put our house on the internet for people to buy, it would not sell. Even for a dollar! cause its destroyed with weeds. I'm serious!!" I couldn't stop laughing.
